Science Department

Mr. Swan received his B.S in mechanical engineering from Northwestern University and M.S in science education from Southern Connecticut State University. Prior to turning his talents to teaching, Mr. Swan had a career as a design engineer at Textron Lycoming for ten years. Before coming to SHA in 2019, he taught Physics and Engineering for 25 years, primarily at Hopkins School. Before that, I was a design engineer for a decade at Textron Lycoming. Having wrestled in both high school and college, Mr. Swan has coached and refereed for 30 years. Outside of the classroom and coaching, he enjoys reading, writing, hiking, and designing and building furniture.
