English Department
The English Department offers an overview of literature through the ages, and a place for the girls to strengthen their skills as a writer and a critical thinker. Electives offer an opportunity to dive deeper into subjects like mythology, theater, and journalism. We often ask the questions: ‘How does this piece reflect our core values’ and ‘Who is the female protagonist?’
Barbara Badore • department Chair
Mrs. Badore received a B.A in English from Ithaca College, a Master’s in Education from the University of Bridgeport and a Master’s in English from Central Connecticut State University. At SHA since 2009, Mrs. Badore has taught a variety of English courses and various electives and also currently serves as the Chair of the English Department, where she mentors new teachers and is a resource for the whole department.
