Last week Sr. Sheila O’Neill introduced a new community building initiative to our school community called Houses. The House system will provide opportunities for students to connect with students outside of their grade level. Each House consists of one homeroom of seniors, juniors, sophomores, and freshmen.

“The SHA sisterhood is so incredibly special. Any SHA alumnae will attest to the fact that the words in our alma mater are true – “the strongbonds formed at SHA will never in life be broken”, Sr. Sheila stated. “Creating new opportunities for our students to connect, have fun, and make memories together is an important part of what we do at SHA”.

Houses will meet monthly to participate in team building activities and engage in friendly competitions. As our principal Sr. Kathleen always says, “At SHA we may work hard, and pray hard, but we also PLAY hard”, and the SHA spirit was certainly pulsating through the gym when we kicked off Houses last week with an anagram competition.

We are excited to roll out the plans for House activities for the rest of year and to see our students bond and have fun.
