On March 9th, the award-winning SHA Drama Guild traveled to Greens Farms Academy in Westport to participate in the Connecticut Drama Association's annual theatre competition, with 13 other member schools. MaryLee Delaney served at the Festival Director, and prepared the SHA girls to lead forum discussions and workshops with hundreds of other CT teens. Coach Kim Curbow served as House Manager for the event.

 

The students performed an adaptation of LORD OF THE FLIES, and won awards in Strength of Ensemble Acting, Lighting and Special Effects. Juniors Kelly Blute and seniors Chara Blagrove and Mimi Rams earned Top Acting Awards, with Chara and Mimi being named to the All- Star CT Cast! It was a 14 hour day, and special thanks go out to our students’ families for transportation and support! 

 

The event included workshops and presentations from theater professionals, including SHA Alumna and professional stage manager Katlyn Rapini '10.
