SNHS Welcomes 4th Speaker: Karen Zusi-Tran '07

Sacred Heart alumna Karen Zusi-Tran ’07, spoke today from Boston to a group of students and faculty in the fourth installment of the Science National Honors Society (SNHS) Speaker Series.

Karen, a science writer for the Broad Institute, shared with the students her journey from SHA to biology major to science journalism. She spoke about her daily duties, which include talking to scientists, writing and editing web stories about research, hosting public talks and writing video scripts. She advised the students to read, listen to and watch media about science, to write for school newspapers, to have informal interviews with people in the field and to explore available internships in the field. The enthusiastic audience enjoyed the talk very much and learned about another path from SHA to a career.
