The Sister Antonine Signorelli, ASCJ Memorial Scholarship
Each year incoming freshmen with outstanding academic records who achieved the highest entrance exam score are awarded The Sister Antonine Signorelli, ASCJ Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship was established to honor the life, philosophy, and achievements of Sister Antonine Signorelli, the foundress and first principal of Sacred Heart Academy. Sister Antonine Scholars form a distinct group of young women who display strong academic success with promise for future accomplishment. They truly affirm our school motto, “Excelsior.”
Through the years, our Sister Antonine Scholars have been accepted to and graduated from the finest colleges and universities in the United States and abroad. Recent graduates who are Sister Antonine Scholars currently study at the University of Leicester in Great Britain, Princeton University, University of Notre Dame, Brown University, Tufts University, Yale University, MIT, US Naval Academy, Dartmouth College, and Cornell University, among other universities. Several have been named National Merit Finalists and State of CT Governor’s Scholars.
Sister Antonine Scholarship recipients learn of this honor in January at the time of acceptance. In March, new scholars along with their families are invited to an afternoon reception of celebration hosted by current Antonine Scholars and the Admissions Office.
